Imagine having the same Fender Rhodes made famous on the legendary recordings of Chic, Tony Bennet and Peter Frampton. Well imagine no more thanks to Chris Griffin's Avatar Rhodes.
Griffin embarked on a pilgrimage to the world-renowned Avatar Studios (formerly Power Station) to capture their mkII Rhodes and Stereo Suitcase through similar signal paths to those used all those years ago.
The speakers were mic'd with Neuman U-87 and U-47 FET microphones, running through Neve 1073 pre amps and finally through Apogee converters on the way into Pro Tools. The room mics were Coles 4038's run through Pultecs and Apogee converters before Pro Tools. The DI was an Avalon D5.
Griffin meticulously hyper-sampled this popular vintage keyboard at different velocities in order to create auto-load instrument patches for the EXS-24, Kontakt, plus a Reason ReFill.
The collection also offers separate DI, Amp and Room samples, giving users the ability to custom-blend the samples to their tracks.
